Bio

I am a Research Associate working on marine ecosystem modelling. My current research focuses on the impacts of climate change on marine food webs supporting forage fish, salmon and seabird populations, with funding from the Missing Salmon Alliance, Atlantic Salmon Trust and NERC’s Ecowind programme. I use machine learning and mechanistic population modelling methods with physical-biogeochemical ocean model and patchy empirical biological data. My background is in maths, oceanography, population dynamics, fisheries and environmental impact assessment.

I am a member of the Scotland-based art-science collective Waterways. I have seagoing and fieldwork experience including marine ecosystem monitoring, juvenile salmon survey and Whale and Dolphin Conservation UK’s Shorewatch programme.
